The Recreation Program Instructor, under the direction of the Recreation Program Specialist, will primarily be responsible for the facilitation of the Town’s Recreation Programs, Play in the Park Program, and Day Camps during the Fall, Winter and Spring which includes Professional Development (PD) days, Winter Break and March Break. Program Instructors must be enthusiastic and outgoing while providing participants with a fun and inclusive experience.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience working in camps, with children, or with specific activities.
- Current enrollment in a Recreation and Leisure or Child Studies program is an asset.
Must hold and maintain the following qualifications:
- Standard First Aid Certification
- CPR – Level C
- Automated External Defibrillator
- High Five – Principles of Healthy Child Development (or willing to obtain)- High level of responsibility and accountability.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a small team (2-6 people).
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including: evenings, weekends, holidays and multiple locations.
