Road Watch

What is Road Watch?

Road Watch is a community-based initiative that gives residents and visitors the opportunity to report dangerous drivers to the police. The purpose of the program is to address local traffic concerns such as aggressive driving, speeding, improper passing, running stop signs and other unsafe practices.

Report Dangerous Driving

If you observe someone driving dangerously on the roads of Niagara-on-the-Lake, please download the printable Citizen Report Form (PDF).

Completed forms may be dropped off at the Town Administration building at 1593 Four Mile Creek Road or faxed to the Niagara Regional Police (2 District) at 905-374-0604. (Online submission will be available soon.)

Police will make contact with the plate owner of the reported vehicle. You will remain anonymous unless you choose to pursue a detailed police investigation that may result in charges being laid and require a court appearance.

Road Watch reports are intended for aggressive/unsafe driving incidents only.  If you wish to report a parking or by-law issue, please contact the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake By-Law Enforcement division at 905-468-3266.

If this incident is an emergency, dial 911 immediately.

Niagara-on-the-Lake is the first municipality in the Niagara Region to offer the Road Watch program. Road Watch was introduced in Caledon in 1993. The program is now running in 54 municipalities across Ontario and has gone national.

Road Watch is a partnership between citizens, the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Niagara Regional Police, Niagara-on-the-Lake Safety Committee, and the Ontario Ministry of Transportation.
